Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: A Symbol of Prosperity and Wisdom

Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival celebrating Lord Ganesha, the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and the remover of obstacles, will be observed this year on Tuesday, September 19th, under the Swati Nakshatra, Dhwaja Yoga, Parakrama Yoga, and during the transition of the Sun and Mercury in the Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha. This auspicious festival will be celebrated for ten days, concluding on Anant Chaturdashi, Thursday, September 28th, 2023.

How to Install the Idol of Lord Ganesha at Home?

The left-sided trunk of Lord Ganesha symbolizes the influence of the moon, signifying tranquility and calmness. These Ganesha idols on the left are believed to bring blessings of wealth, prosperity, happiness, fame, and success.

On the other hand, the right-sided trunk of Ganesha represents the sun’s influence. These idols are often found in temples due to the intricate rituals and ceremonies required for their worship.

You may have noticed that Siddhi Vinayak temples typically house idols with right-sided trunks, emphasizing their divine and rigorous worship practices as per the scriptures.

Additionally, if you wish to bring Lord Ganesha into your home for specific reasons, consider the following:

For Childbirth Blessings: Bring a child Ganesha idol into your home if you’ve been awaiting the gift of a child.

For Joy and Progress:  Install an idol with Ganesha in a dancing posture to invite joy, enthusiasm, and progress into your home.

For Art Lovers: If you’re an art enthusiast, choose an idol of Ganesha in a dancing pose to enhance your creative endeavors.

For Peace and Prosperity:  If you seek enduring peace and prosperity in your home, select an idol of Lord Ganesha in a reclining position.

When acquiring a Ganesha idol, ensure it features the following attributes: one hand in a blessing gesture, another holding a tooth, and a laddoo in the third hand. Additionally, the idol should have a mouse, Lord Ganesha’s vehicle

During the installation, chant the “Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha” mantra to fulfill your wishes. Also, listen to the story of Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat Katha during the puja and perform the aarti.
